Sitting in a little cafe in Cambodia escaping the 110 degree weather, reflecting on the faithfulness of God. He is so very amazing!! I just can't get enough of Jesus!
Our time here in SE Asia, visiting the DTS outreach teams has been absolutely amazing. We started out in Chaing Mai, Thailand with the team that has been reaching out to the prostitutes in Thailand. Thailand is known world-wide for prostitution, and people come from all over the western world for this very reason. The 8 students on this team have spent their evenings becoming friends with the women trapped in this lifestyle and having conversations with the men that have come to Thailand and are offering a better way to fill the void that is so evident in their lives. They are reaching out to those that others would rather not speak to. What an amazing testimony of the love of Jesus!! It was so great to see them and bring encouragement to keep going. That what they are speaking into the lives of these people is seeded in their hearts, and Jesus will remain faithful to pursue these lives even after they have left Thailand.
I have been reminded on this trip about how much life is not about me, but all about Jesus. I want everything I do to point people to Jesus, and away from me. Everything I do is an overflow of who Jesus is in my life. I want the world around me to be drawn closer to Jesus because of who I know him to be. May it never ever be about me.
From Thailand we went to Malaysia to a team of 7 more students who are reaching out the street people on the island of Penang. They feed 100-120 people breakfast and lunch 3 times a week, and also help them to their laundry and provide them a place to shower and clean up. They are impacting these peoples lives so deeply and it was great to see the team flourishing there.
We are now in Battambang, Cambodia, and we are absolutely amazed at what God is doing in the people here. Cambodia is an impoverished nation lost in the world of false gods and fear. But the team here of 10 students is seeing God's Kingdom come here in radical ways. They have seen salvations, healings, and miracles. We have 2 more days here before we begin our journey back home...and I am excited to see what else God has in store.
Zac and I feel like proud parents seeing all of our students thrive on outreach, putting into practice all that they learned during the 3 months in Montana in lecture. Seeing them step out and love the unlovable and take a risk when they hear God telling them to pray for healings. Our God is so faithful and I feel so priveleged to do what we do. Jesus is amazing!! Thank you for standing with us in prayer and support. It means more than you know! Lives are being changed, and the Kingdom of God is growing. Thank you.
