Those of us that grew up going to church, can probably quote this verse without even thinking about it...but Jesus has had me meditating on it a lot this week. So good.
What things do I need to allow the Spirit to grow more of in my life? So challenging.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying one another." -Galatians 5:22-26
Some of these things come a lot easier than others...it's easy for me to love, and easy for me to have joy, easy for me to be kind, I feel like I'm pretty faithful...but how much peace do I have? Do I often choose worry over peace? I definitely need to work on self control :) I remember so often as a little kid my dad saying to me, "Hannah, you need to work on your self-control, it is a fruit of the Spirit, and we need to be able see all of those fruits evidenced in our lives as believers." I am so thankful for my Dad, and all that he taught me about Jesus from the time I was a little kid.
Jesus, help me to be more like you...you are all that I want in this world.
